LONDON (Alliance News) - Healthcare and automation technology company Servelec Group PLC Wednesday said its controls division had won two new contracts to provide equipment for EDF Energy's nuclear power plants in the UK.
It didn't provide any financial details for either contract.
The company said its controls unit had won a contract to design, implement, test and commission a new diagnostic monitoring system for the Pond and Flask at EDF Energy's Heysham 2 nuclear power station in Lancashire.
The system will continuously monitor the performance of safety-critical operations.
Separately, Servelec said the unit had won a deal to provide THales UK with control and monitoring equipment for a mobile emergency response system that will be implemented at EDF Energy's UK nuclear power plants.
"Following on from the Fukushima incident in Japan, EDF Energy has undertaken a rigorous assessment of their fleet of UK nuclear power stations to counter the occurrence of an event caused by a similar event. Through this process, EDF Energy has identified a requirement for the provision of mobile emergency response systems which will be deployed in the occurrence of such an event," Servelec said.
Servelec shares were down 0.1% at 258.50 pence Wednesday.
