LONDON (Alliance News) - Services company Serco Group PLC Thursday said it has won a GBP355 million five-year extension to its contract to run and maintain the Dubai Metro.
The new contract will run until September 2019, with an opportunity to extend for a further two years, the company said in a statement.
At 75 kilometres, the Dubai Metro is the world's longest fully automatic driverless train system and one of a number of transport systems that Serco operates. It also runs the Docklands Light Railway in London, and has this year won contracts with the Hong Kong Transport Department, and the Virginia Department of Transport in the US.
Serco shares were up 1.2% at 546.50 pence Thursday morning.
