LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 250-listed public services company Serco Group PLC said on Monday its Australian subsidiary is in negotiations to operate as a sub-contractor to private healthcare provider Bupa Health Services Pty Ltd.
This follows Bupa's selection by the Australian government to provide health services to the Australian Defence Force.
Bupa has signed the prime contract for these services, and Serco's sub-contract would be to provide the human resources managed service on the associated defence bases.
In November 2018, Bupa was named as the lead candidate to replace Medibank Health Solutions as the provider of the Garrison Health Services contract, which Medibank has held since 2012.
Shares in Serco Group were up 0.9% at 115.54 pence on Monday.
