11th Jan 2022 09:39

(Alliance News) - Senior PLC on Tuesday announced the signing of two new contracts with Japanese automotive manufacturer Honda Motor Co Ltd and US aerospace firm Boeing Co, though it provided no financial details.

The Hertfordshire-based engineering firm said the supply contract with Honda is for Senior Flexonics to supply the company with exhaust flexible connectors for Honda's 1.5 litre and 2.0 litre gasoline engines.

Senior Flexonics will manufacture the components in its facilities in India and China, and deliveries have already commenced.

"We are excited about our partnership with Honda and our mutual commitment to customer satisfaction and product quality," said Senior Flexonics CEO Mike Sheppard.

Meanwhile, Senior Aerospace has secured multi-year contracts with Boeing, for the supply floor beam assemblies on the Boeing 767 and quadrant assemblies for the flight control systems on the Boeing 737 and Boeing 777 platforms.

The floor beam assemblies for the 767 will be produced at Senior Aerospace's facility in Arlington, Washington, with deliveries to start in January. Meanwhile, the quadrant assemblies for the 737 and 777 will start in the first quarter of 2022.

"We are delighted to be awarded these contracts on important Boeing aircraft programmes. Senior Aerospace is a long-standing, reliable supplier to Boeing for critical components such as these floor beams and flight control assemblies," said Launie Fleming, CEO of Senior Aerospace.

Senior did not disclose the value of either contract with Honda or Boeing.

Shares in Senior were up 4.1% at 142.70 pence on Tuesday morning in London.
