LONDON (Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Limited said Thursday that its Operator Safety Division has won an additional order for its fatigue monitoring systems from BHP Billiton Mt Arthur Coal following a successful trial.
The technology company said it has received an additional order from BHP Billiton Mt Arthur Coal for a further 40 DSS fatigue and distraction monitoring systems.
The deal, which is valued at around AUD630,000, will see the systems installed at the BHP Billiton Mt Arthur Coal mine in New South Wales, Australia, after the successful 15 vehicle DSS system trial announced in June 2013.
The latest deployment brings the total fatigue monitoring coverage to 55 of Mt Arthurs' 100+ trucks.
"This order continues the progress within the mining industry in supporting the safety advances being delivered with Seeing Machines' DSS technology and the integral role that fatigue management solutions play in keeping their operators safe. Our driver-friendly, always-on solution is fast becoming important to the industry as a means to maximise worker safety and achieve 24/7 safety coverage," said Ken Kroeger, Seeing Machines' CEO.
Shares in the technology firm were trading 2.04% lower Thursday morning at 6 pence per share.
