Seeing Machines Signs Driver-Safety Dealerships In Mexico, Colombia

24th Jan 2014 09:19

LONDON (Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Ltd Friday said it has signed two further Caterpillar dealers to provide products and services to miners in Latin America.

The AIM-listed technology company, which specialises in monitoring and intervention technologies, said the Mexican mining services company Empresas Matco SA de CV and the Colombian mining services company General de Equipos de Colombia SA will now have access to the company's Driver Safety System for transports manufactured by the US's Caterpillar Inc.

General de Equipos de Colombia provides services to Colombia, Guyana and Bahamas.

Seeing Machines' Driver Safety System reduces the danger of fatigue-related injuries for vehicle operators by using eye-tracking software to detect operator drowsiness and distraction, triggering seat vibrations and alarms to alert the driver.

In December, the company announced its first Caterpillar distributor deal for its system with Wagner Equipment Co and said that over 20 Caterpillar dealers are in the process of becoming Seeing Machines distributors.

Seeing Machines shares were trading up 1.3% at 7.85 pence early Friday.
