Seeing Machines Shuts Down Speculation Over Volvo Contract Award

12th Jul 2019 14:25

(Alliance News) - Computer vision technology firm Seeing Machines Ltd said on Friday no award of a driver monitoring technology contract to Volvo Car Corp has been confirmed.

Nothing a "recent press rumour", Seeing Machines said there has been speculation it was appointed to deliver driver monitoring technology to car maker Volvo.

However, the firm said it was not consulted on the content of the article and no award has been confirmed.

As previously communicated, the company said it currently has seven original equipment manufacturer production programs spanning a "broad range" of car models across a total of six automotive OEMs globally.

"In addition, the company has a strong and building pipeline of future RFQs across a range of vehicle classes in North America, Europe and Asia," Seeing Machines said. "Any future awards will be announced in due course."

Shares in Seeing Machines were up 4.5% at 3.20 pence in London on Friday.
