LONDON (Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Ltd Tuesday said it is having a strong fourth quarter as it secures orders under its partnership with Caterpillar Safety Services, part of US machinery and engine manufacturer Caterpillar Inc.
AIM-listed Seeing Machines, which focuses on operator monitoring and intervention sensing technologies and services, said that Caterpillar is building a strong global decision support system sales pipeline and has recently booked significant DSS sales in Australia and Canada.
In Canada, Caterpillar and Finning International, which distributes Caterpillar products and support services, have been contracted to implement a DSS solution across a 47 haul truck fleet at the Kearl oil sands deposit in Alberta, which is jointly owned by oil companies Imperial and ExxonMobil Canada.
In Australia, Caterpillar dealer WesTrac will help mining company BHP Billiton PLC deploy DSS technology in BHP subsidiary Mount Arthur coal mine's 90-plus vehicle haul fleet. Seeing Machines had already equipped half of Mount Arthur's fleet with DSS technology in 2013.
"It's great to see the investment that Seeing Machines and Caterpillar have made begin to deliver returns for both parties and for the dealer network. The next phases of the relationship will introduce another level of integration between our companies and greatly expand the markets for our technology," Seeing Machines Chief Executive Ken Kroeger said in a statement.
Shares in Seeing Machines were trading up 5.7% at 4.63 pence Tuesday afternoon.
