Seeing Machines Receives New Purchase Orders From BHP Billiton Iron Ore

LONDON (Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Ltd Monday said its Operator Safety Division has received purchase orders from BHP Billiton Iron Ore, a subsidiary of BHP Billiton PLC, for an addition 86 Driver Safety Systems fatigue and distraction monitoring systems.

The AIM-listed driver-safety technology company said the systems will be installed across BHP's Pilbara mine sites in Western Australia.

The company said BHP Iron Ore will install the additional units across its Pilbara fleet of haul trucks and water carts. Following installation, BHP Iron Ore will have over 250 vehicles operating with DSS at their Mining Area C, Mt Whaleback, Eastern Ridge, Yandi, and Jimblebar Operations; making it one of the largest DSS fleets worldwide.

Seeing Machines said the total value of the deployment is over AUD1.4 million.

"The technology is fast becoming indispensable to the industry as a means to maximise worker safety. We are glad that this, along with our absolute commitment to the highest levels of service for our customers, is being recognized," Chief Executive Ken Kroeger said in a statement

Seeing Machines shares were up 2.8% to 7.07 pence while BHP Billiton shares were down 0.4% to 1,802.00 pence Monday.
