(Alliance News) - Seeing Machines Ltd said Monday it has launched a variant of its FOVIO driver monitoring solution.
The FOVIO Chip platform is used to assess a driver and determine "driver attention state, focus, drowsiness and impairment levels".
Seeing Machines said the new variant has been developed to specifically address the European New Car Assessment Program requirements for driver drowsiness and distraction detection to achieve safety ratings from 2022.
Driver monitoring system technology is set to become standard in most modern passenger cars for improved driver and semi-automatic driving safety given European New Car Assessment Program requirements, the company noted.
This is done in an effort to curb driver drowsiness and distraction and improve safety for passengers and pedestrians alike, with reinforcement by the European Commission and the US National Transportation Safety Board, Seeing Machines said.
The FOVIO Chip solution was introduced in 2018, offering Seeing Machines' driver monitoring system technology on a scalable platform, the company said.
Seeing Machines shares were unchanged in London at 5.00 pence each on Monday.
