Searle Resigns As Chair Of Mercia Technologies, Replaced By Metcalfe

2nd Jul 2019 11:45

(Alliance News) - Susan Searle has stepped down as non-executive chair of Mercia Technologies PLC with immediate effect, the company said Tuesday, and will be replaced by Senior Independent Director Ian Metcalfe.

Searle, who served as chair for the technology and business investment company for more than three years, is leavingto focus on other commitments.

With Metcalfe's promotion, Mercia plans to appoint an additional non-executive director who specialises in asset management.

"Without Susan's involvement from the very beginning of the company in 2014 and in particular her passion for our success, Mercia would not have grown to become the business we are today," said Ray Chamberlain, co-founder and non-executive director. "We will all miss her enthusiasm and commitment to Mercia but respect her decision to step down as non-executive chair."

Shares in Mercia were 0.3% lower late Tuesday morning in London at 31.81 pence each.
