Scottish Investment Trust Total Return Just Shy Of 10% In First Half

1st Jun 2015 07:25

LONDON (Alliance News) - FTSE 250-listed The Scottish Investment Trust PLC Monday said its net asset value per share total return was just shy of 10% in the first half of its financial year.

The trust said its net asset value per share total return in the six months to the end of April was 9.8%. Though it does not have a formal benchmark, the trust said its performance is measured against broad baskets of international and UK equities. As such, its 9.8% return in the half was ahead of the 9.6% return from the FTSE All-World Index and ahead of the 9.2% return for the UK FTSE All-Share Index.

The trust said global stock markets have made a robust start to the year, boosted by further monetary stimulus from central banks. Over the course of the half, the trust rationalised its holdings, reducing exposure to the healthcare and technology sectors and increasing its holdings in the utilities and consumer sectors. It also made a shift regionally from North America to Japan.

Shares in the trust were untraded after the open on Monday, having last traded at 661.00 pence.
