Scottish American Recruits Two New Board Members As Kerr Retires

21st Nov 2018 14:39

LONDON (Alliance News) - Scottish American Investment Co PLC on Wednesday said Senior Independent Director John Kerr intends to retire in April, having been with the company for 16 years.

In addition, the trust said it appointed Mariot Leslie as a non-executive director and proposed the election of Karyn Lamont as a non-executive director, both from the annual general meeting, scheduled for April next year.

Leslie had a career in the British Diplomatic Service from 1977 until her retirement in 2014.

Meanwhile, Lamont is a former audit partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Currently she serves as the Audit Committee chairman of The Scottish Investment Trust PLC, The North American Income Trust PLC and at the Scottish Building Society.

"The board, and I personally, would like to thank Kerr for his considerable contribution to the board over many years," said Chairman Peter Moon.

"We are delighted that Mariot and Karyn have agreed to join the board and are confident that their knowledge and abilities will be of great benefit to SAINTS in the years ahead," added Moon.

Scottish American Investment shares were trading 0.4% up on Wednesday at 364.30 pence each.
