LONDON (Alliance News) - Scotgold Resources Ltd on Wednesday said all production circuits at the Cononish gold and silver project in Scotland are operating, and it is now ramping up throughput rates at the site.
Scotgold said the bulk processing trial for the project is now underway. Product assays suggest the feed grade is in line with the expected 7.9 grams per tonne of gold and 39 grams per tonne of silver, the company said.
Further treatment of the concentrate produced will be undertaken during the trial, the group said, which will ensure enough free gold is available to demonstrate the profitability and marketability of the project.
"We are extremely pleased with the way the BPT circuit is performing metallurgically as well as in terms of reliability and ease of operation. The results achieved indicate we may be able to enhance the design of the final full scale (phase II) plant, both in terms of recovery and operating cost," said Richard Gray, Scotgold's chief executive.
Shares in Scotgold were up 4.6% to 0.863 pence.
