Scotgold Resources Continues Sediment Sampling At Grampian Project

15th Jan 2020 14:52

(Alliance News) - Scotgold Resources Ltd said Wednesday it continues to apply the ionic leach method to stream sediment sampling and soil sampling in programs across the Grampian project in the Scottish Highlands.

The mineral exploration company said the focus at the Grampian project has been to continue with an extension of the soil sampling grid at Inverchorachan exploration area and to commence a large scale soil sampling grid over the Beinn Udlaidh prospect.

At Inverchorachan, a total of 177 samples were collected and analysed, covering a distance along strike of 500 metres, with further values of 70.4 parts per billion of gold and 54.8 parts per billion of silver detected.

The soil sampling grid requires further extension to constrain the identified anomalies, the company noted.

At Beinn Udlaidh, a total of 599 samples were collected and analysed with values of 9.06 parts per billion of gold and 89.9 parts per billion of silver detected, along a strike length of 2.4 kilometres, the company said.

Scotgold also said that another linear anomaly is observed to the southwest and it is possible that this is an extension to the main Beinn Udlaidh vein.

The company said that a separate regional ionic leach stream sediment sampling programme, which has been planned across all 13 of Sotgold's option areas, commenced in June 2019. A total of 197 samples has been collected from six out of 13 option areas.

The sampling programme is ongoing and is aimed for completion within the 2020 field season, Scotgold added.

Richard Gray, chief executive officer, said: "Although our prime focus continues to be the development of the Cononish mine, our exploration activities continue to build an exciting portfolio of anomalies which will form the basis for potential future drilling programs in the years to come."

Scotgold shares were trading 0.7% higher in London at 70.50 pence each on Wednesday.
