LONDON (Alliance News) - SCISYS PLC said Tuesday it has signed a contract with the European Space Agency to deliver the Harwell Robotics and Autonomy Facility Pilot Project 1.
The deal, worth EUR1.2 million over the next 12 months, commences immediately, said SCISYS.
The HRAF facility will support the development, testing and validation of autonomous systems technologies, which is essential for future space missions involving planetary rovers and robots, said the company.
The facilities will include mock planetary surfaces, simulated software environments and field trials. The aim for HRAF is to provide such a testing facility, which in turn will deliver a number of key benefits to the user community, said the bespoke software systems provider.
Shares in SCISYS were trading 3.69% higher at 94.88 pence per share Tuesday morning.
