LONDON (Alliance News) - Science in Sport PLC Thursday said that it has signed a distribution agreement in the Asia-Pacific region, as part of its plans to build international sales.
The manufacturer of sports-nutrition products aimed at professional athletes and sports enthusiasts said that it has signed a long-term contract with a newly created company in New Zealand called Science in Sport Asia Pacific Limited. The new company is wholly owned by its founders, led by Keith Jackson, chairman of Sportstec, a video analysis firm.
Under the agreement, Science in Sport Asia Pacific Limited will be the high-volume distributor for Science in Sport's products in the Asia Pacific region, and it will develop a network of sub-distributors to enter specific markets such as Australia and Hong Kong.
The company said that Science in Sport Asia Pacific Limited has opened a warehouse and distribution centre in Auckland, which will serve as a central distribution hub for the Asia Pacific region.
Science in Sports said that the first shipment of products to stock the Auckland warehouse will shortly be sent out from its manufacturing plant in Lancashire.
Shares in the company were up 6.4% at 61.20 pence per share Thursday morning.
