Schroders promotes CFO Richard Oldfield to CEO from November

10th Sep 2024 09:35

(Alliance News) - Schroders PLC on Tuesday said Chief Financial Officer Richard Oldfield will be promoted to chief executive officer from November.

The London-based asset and wealth manager said Oldfield will take over as CEO on November 8. Oldfield in October last year replaced Richard Keers as CFO. He succeeds Peter Harrison, who the company back in April said will retire in 2025 after eight years in post.

Schroders said it will make a further announcement on appointment a successor CFO in due course.

Chair Elizabeth Corley said: "Richard has proven himself to be a natural leader of client focused, people centric businesses. He has a global perspective, a strategic growth mindset and a proven record of leadership. The board was unanimous that Richard was the stand-out candidate. It was clear that his strong business acumen will drive purposeful transformation at pace and we are confident that he will develop our strategic priorities, enabling Schroders to continue to grow and serve clients."

Schroders shares were up 0.4% at 338.60 pence each on Tuesday morning in London.
