LONDON (Alliance News) - Adhesive-based product manufacturer Scapa Group PLC said on Tuesday it has appointed Joe Doherty as executive director and healthcare president-designate, with immediate effect.
He will become healthcare president on April 1, after Joe Davin's planned retirement on March 31 after eight years in the role since 2011.
Doherty will be joining from surgical devices manufacturer Olympus Surgical Technologies America where he spent four years since 2015, most recently as president.
Prior to that, he was part of US pharmaceutical and medical devices firm Johnson & Johnson for 24 years from 1990 to 2015, leaving as vice president of the Integration division.
In addition, Scapa has appointed its Executive Vice President Sevan Demirdogen to the board as an executive director, and Julie Thompson has been appointed as a non-executive director.
"On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome Joe, Sevan and Juliet to the Scapa board of directors. Their breadth of knowledge and experience will bring additional perspectives and depth to our board while our business continues to grow and expand within the healthcare and industrial markets," said Chair Larry Pentz.
Shares in Scapa were up 0.6% at 345.00 pence on Tuesday.
