Savannah Resources To Pursue Feasibility Study Of Portuguese Project

24th Jul 2018 12:43

LONDON (Alliance News) - Savannah Resources PLC said on Tuesday it has appointed lithium consulting engineers Primero Group to conduct a feasibility study of the Mina do Barroso Lithium Project in Portugal.

The feasibility study is expected to build on the outcomes of the scoping study completed in June, which confirmed that the project has the potential to be a major European producer of lithium.

A mine and concentrator plant model will be further developed based around the project's deposits for the production of a lithium concentrate with additional ceramic co-products.

Results of the feasibility study is expected to be available by the end of the first quarter of 2019.

"We are pleased to have commissioned Primero which is one of the global leaders in the evaluation, design and construction of hard rock, open-cut, spodumene mines like Mina do Barroso. Primero's experience will be critical in guiding us towards our objective of being the first major producer of lithium in Western Europe by 2020," said Chief Executive Officer David Archer.

Shares in Savannah Resources were down 3.6% at 9.40 pence on Tuesday.
