Savannah Resources Gets Positive Tests From Portuguese Lithium Project

14th Nov 2019 15:02

(Alliance News) - Savannah Resources PLC on Thursday said the ongoing metallurgical test work programme at Mina do Barroso project in Portugal continues to successfully produce saleable grades of spodumene lithium concentrate with excellent recoveries.

The London-based resource company, which also has operations in Oman and Mozambique, said it has produced high-quality spodumene concentrates from the Grandao, Pinheiro and Aldeia deposits at the Mina do Barroso project, using a "whole of ore flotation" process developed during the previous test work programmes.

At Grandao deposit, the company found 76% lithium concentrate recovery and 6% concentrate grades from fresh samples. The Pinheiro and Aldeia deposits saw lithium concentrate recoveries in excess of 77% and 73%, respectively.

Savannah Resources said significant scope remains to further optimise and improve upon the test results which the company is doing through its ongoing test work programmes

Savannah Resources shares were down 0.2% at 2.40 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
