Savannah Resources Expects Jangamo Sampling Results In February

6th Jan 2014 08:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Savannah Resources PLC Monday said that samples from recent drilling at its 80%-owned Jangamo Heavy Mineral Sands Project were despatched for testing at Bureau Veritas' analytical laboratory in Perth, Australia.

The Mozambique-focused mineral sands company said it expects the analytical results from drilling at Jangamo to be available in the first half of February 2014.

Savannah said in November that it had completed its first drilling programme at the site and that geological logging displayed visible signs of heavy minerals.

The company said 27 holes were drilled, and a total of 1,812 meters of reverse drilling was completed to assess the projects prospects. Reverse circulation drilling is a lower, more expensive drilling method which achieves better penetration than others. In this method, broken bits are pumped up and out of the drill pipe.

Savannah Resources shares were down 2.4% to 5.25 pence Monday.
