LONDON (Alliance News) - Savannah Resources PLC said Tuesday that it has appointed James Leahy as independent non-executive director with immediate effect.
Leahy previously has acted as interim chairman for Bacanora Minerals Ltd and served on the boards of several listed and private companies.
"We are pleased to welcome James Leahy to Savannah's board as he brings a wealth of experience of both capital markets and the resource sector which will be highly beneficial as we continue to progress our portfolio of energy metals projects through the their development stages and into production. His knowledge, experience and extensive contact base will be invaluable and the board looks forward to working with him as we continue to deliver on our strategy to maximise value for our shareholders with a view to taking our Portuguese Mina do Barroso project rapidly into production and to be the first significant spodumene lithium producer in Europe," said Savannah Chairman Matthew King.
Shares in the lithium exploration company were down 4.9% at 5.80 pence each on Tuesday afternoon.
