LONDON (Alliance News) - San Leon Energy PLC Wednesday said it has taken the next steps towards vertical hydraulic fracturing at the Gdansk W concession in Poland's northern Baltic Basin.
The oil and gas production company, with operations in Europe and North Africa, said the 221,000 acre site experienced initial vertical frac tests recently, including a fracture stimulation and flow potential tests of shale opportunities at the site.
San Leon said that design work has now been completed, materials and services have been ordered, and mobilisation of the technology units to prepare the well for the fracs will commence shortly.
The company said it expects flowback, clean-up and testing to begin at the end November or early December.
San Leon shares were up 1.5% to 4.08 pence in early trading.
