San Leon Energy Completes Akaso-15 Well Test After Delay

25th Jun 2019 17:49

(Alliance News) - San Leon Energy PLC said Tuesday the well test for Akaso-15, in the OML 18 licence in Nigeria, took longer than anticipated.

San Leon Energy said "various operational factors including downtime on the export pipeline" were to blame for the delay.

The drilling for the well was completed in February and was expected to be brought into production in early March.

The combined well test rate for Akaso-15 was 4,800 barrels of oil per day, and has since been put on production.

Akaso-16 is awaiting completing of a hydraulic workover. The operator of the licence expects to use this unit to perform future well completions which, according to San Leon, will save rig time.

Shares in San Leon Energy closed down 0.7% in London on Tuesday at 39.00 pence each.
