Samuel Heath & Sons Profit Grows In Half Year On Revenue Boost

4th Nov 2015 10:46

LONDON (Alliance News) - Samuel Heath & Sons PLC Wednesday reported growth in pretax profit in the first half of its financial year, as revenue rose and both its home and export markets performed well.

The interior designer and manufacturer said pretax profit in the half year ended September 30 grew to GBP437,000 from GBP96,000 in the first half of the prior year, as revenue rose to GBP6.1 million from GBP5.4 million.

The company said that both the home and export markets performed well during the period, which enabled it to increase the labour force and authorise further purchases of machinery.

It did point out, however, that the comparative period the year before was a particularly difficult six months.

Samuel Heath maintained its interim dividend at 5.5 pence.

"The order book has continued to be healthy but, as I have had to say so many times over the years, in a business such as our own things can change very rapidly. It is therefore extremely hazardous to forecast the results for the full year," Chairman Sam Heath said.

Shares in the company were untraded Wednesday morning, last quoted at 225.00 pence.
