Salt Lake Potash Says Lake Wells Process "Significantly Enhanced"

2nd Nov 2016 09:55

LONDON (Alliance News) - Salt Lake Potash Ltd said Wednesday that ongoing results from testwork at its Lake Wells project in Western Australia have "significantly enhanced" its process model.

In a previous statement on Monday, Salt Lake Potash said the tests had seen substantial volumes of brine concentrated into potassium and sulphate mixed salts in three separate trials under simulated and actual conditions.

The salts have been converted into the first sulphate of potash samples from Lake Wells brine, and a site evaporation trial has been set up to produce harvest salts on a continuous basis for bulk production of sulphate of potash samples.

Process testwork is now underway on 2,500 kilograms of brine, aimed at further refinement of the Lake Wells process design.

Salt Lake Potash reiterated the Lake Wells project has the potential to become a "globally significant" sulphate of potash crop-nutrient source.

Shares in Salt Lake Potash were down 1.9% at 32.00 pence Wednesday, giving back some gains from Monday when its shares jumped to 34.25p from 28.75p.
