LONDON (Alliance News) - J Sainsbury PLC on Thursday said it has rejigged some of the responsibilities of its management team, including an expanded role for Chief Financial Officer John Rogers.
The FTSE 100-listed grocer said Rogers' role now will include business development as Helen Buck, who was previously in charge of this area, will leave the company on July 31. All the changes will come into effect from that date.
Rogers will have responsibility for group strategy, the grocer's online, mobile and energy business, its Netto discount arm and new business, in addition to his existing remit.
"John is a key member of the executive team and will play a major operational and strategic role in driving forward our business in his expanded role. In particular Sainsbury's online is a key component of growth in both our food and non-food businesses, and I look forward to John's contribution in this area," said Sainsbury's Chief Executive Mike Coupe.
Sainsbury's shares were flat at 275.70 pence on Thursday morning.
