LONDON (Alliance News) - Safestyle UK PLC said Tuesday that Chief Operating Officer Giles Richell has resigned with immediate effect, and he won't be replaced, as plastic-framed window maker trims its organisational structure.
Richell - who joined Safestyle in the role in February 2017 - will remain at the business "to focus on handing over his executive responsibilities in due course".
"Following a hugely challenging 2018," Safetyle explained in a statement, "the group is fully engaged in delivering the three phase turnaround plan. Part of this plan requires the group to simplify its organisational structure and recover its overhead position."
Safestyle said the COO role will be eliminated. Instead, its functions will be transferred to the senior leadership team.
"Giles joined the group in February 2017 and led the transformation of our manufacturing site at Wombwell, significantly enhanced our HR function and led our digital transformation programme," Chief Executive Officer Mike Gallacher said.
Shares in Safestyle were 1.0% higher at 70.90 pence on Tuesday.
