SABMiller Says Underlying Net Producer Revenue Rises 7% In Quarter

21st Jan 2016 07:38

LONDON (Alliance News) - SABMiller PLC on Thursday said reported net producer revenue declined in the third quarter of its financial year as the strong dollar continued to harm results, although it grew on an underlying basis, boosted by growth in most of its operating regions.

The FTSE 100-listed beer and other drinks giant said group NPR in the third quarter to end-December fell 8% on a reported basis, and by 9% in the nine months of its financial year to date, due to an "adverse translational impact" from the continued depreciation of its key operating currencies against the dollar.

On an underlying basis, which excludes currency changes and the impact of acquisitions and disposals, group NPR grew 7% in the third quarter and 5% in the year to date, while volume rose 4% in the quarter and 2% in the year to date.

SABMiller, which is being taken over by Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch InBev SA, said Africa performed well across the board in the third quarter, while Latin American growth was led by Colombia, and Asia Pacific benefited mostly from a good performance in Australia. Europe, meanwhile, demonstrated growth in all subsidiaries, but growth in North America declined.
