Sable Mining Appoints New Chairman As Edmonds Becomes Non-Executive Director

LONDON (Alliance News) - Sable Mining Africa Ltd Monday said its has appointed James Cochrane as its Chairman with immediate effect, with predecessor Phil Edmonds becoming a non-executive director instead.

Peet Snyders is steeping down as a director, the company said.

Former England cricketer Edmonds has been Chairman since Sable was founded.

Sable said "Jim" Cochrane has over twenty years' management experience within several leading diversified natural resource businesses. Most recently, he was Chief Commercial Officer at miner ENRC.

"Mr Cochrane's appointment will provide the board with specific industry focussed strength, experience and expertise as the company progresses with the next stage of its development advancing its world-class Mount Nimba iron ore project in Guinea towards commercial production, a milestone which is targeted for 2015," the company said in a statement.

Sable Mining shares were up 3.3% at 10.59 pence Monday morning.
