Ryanair To Create 200 New Jobs At New Dublin Office Campus

3rd Apr 2014 11:36

LONDON (Alliance News) - Irish low-cost airline Ryanair Holdings PLC Thursday said it plans to create 200 new jobs in Ireland, as it officially opens its new 100,000 square foot Dublin office campus in Airside Business Park in Swords.

Europe's largest low-cost carrier by number of passengers said that a majority of the new jobs will be for technology, software development and digital marketing specialists, as it develops and improves its Ryanair.com digital platform as well as its new mobile app.

It said that An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, and Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan were there to officially open the new office campus in Dublin.

The airline carrier also said that in the coming year, ended March 2015, its traffic will grow to over 84 million passengers, up from 81.5 million for the year just ended, boosted by new bases open in Lisbon, Athens, Brussels and Rome, as well as significant expansion its route network from Dublin and London Stansted airports.

Ryanair said that traffic in March fell by 200,000 passengers or 4% to 5.2 million, expected by the firm, due to the movement of Easter into April from March last year. For the year to March 2014, Ryanair's load factor was 83%.

From this expansion Ryanair said it would create 500 new jobs for pilots, engineers and cabin crew in 2014, on top of the 200 new jobs planned it announced Thursday.

"I am excited by Ryanair's growth prospects, as we take delivery of another 175 aircraft from our partners Boeing," said Chairman David Bonderman in a statement.

Ryanair shares were trading 0.5% lower Thursday afternoon at EUR7.68.
