23rd Jan 2014 13:02

LONDON (Alliance News) - Europe's largest low cost airline Ryanair Holdings PLC Thursday said it will be opening a third base in Portugal in April this year, with one based aircraft and four new routes, as part of its more than USD90 million investment at Lisbon Airport.

The airline operator said that the new base brings its total number of bases to 65.

It said the four new routes to Dole, Manchester, Marseille and Pisa will start at the beginning of April, as part of its summer 2014 schedule.

From April, Ryanair said that it will have 124 more weekly flights at Lisbon airport, with the new flights and routes adding roughly another 900,000 passengers per year.

Shares in Ryanair were trading marginally higher at EUR6.897 per share.
