(Alliance News) - Ryanair Holdings PLC on Tuesday said traffic for the first month of 2020 rose, also reporting growth from its Austrian subsidiary Lauda.
The Irish budget airline said its total traffic for January was 10.8 million passengers, representing a 5% increase from 10.3 million in January 2019.
The figures included a 67% rise in Lauda passengers to 500,000 from 300,000, with a 91% load factor. Traffic from the core Ryanair business increased by 3.0% to 10.3 million from 10.0 million, with a 92% load factor.
The airline's group load factor for January came in at 92%, up from 91% in the same month in 2019 but below its rolling annual figure of 96%.
On a rolling annual basis, total traffic was up 8.0% at 152.9 million versus 141.1 million year on year.
Ryanair operated more than 62,000 scheduled flights in January, it said.
On Monday, Ryanair had said it swung to a third-quarter operating profit of EUR91.3 million, compared to a loss of EUR68.0 million for the same period a year before.
The stock was trading 0.2% lower at EUR15.82 each on Tuesday morning in London.
