Ryanair Reaches Labour Agreement With German Pilots Union

11th Sep 2019 14:24

(Alliance News) - Ryanair Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it has agreed a four-year collective labour agreement with pilot union VC.

Shares in Ryanair were up 3.5% at EUR10.40 in London in afternoon trading.

The pact covers all of the budget airline's directly employed pilots in Germany through to March 2023 and will deliver a new pay structure including a fixed 4/5 roster.

Moreover, Ryanair and VC have agreed to a social plan which will govern the closure or reduction of German bases.

The social plan and collective labour agreement "will now be put to a ballot of Ryanair's pilots in Germany".

The news follows strikes by the Ryanair pilots in the UK. This includes members of the British Airline Pilots Association, which has planned further walkouts and stoppages over pay, pension, and maternity benefit disputes.
