On a rolling 12-month basis, Ryanair carried 204.8 million passengers, up roughly 5.1% from 194.8 million a year before, also with an unchanged 94% load factor.

Wizz Air said it continued to "refocus its network" towards its core Central and Eastern Europe markets last month. The airline opened a new base at Zvartnots Airport in Yerevan, Armenia on October 1, and has said it will open another base in Podgorica, Montenegro.

Wizz Air noted that carbon dioxide emissions per passenger kilometre were 49.2 grams in October, which was a reduction of 4.8% year-on-year.
