LONDON (Alliance News) - Rurelec PLC on Thursday said it received a requisition letter from a major shareholder proposing the appointment of a new director to the company's board.
Rurelec shares were trading 7.7% lower a 0.90 pence.
The electricity utility firm said that YF Finance Ltd, which holds a 17.20% stake in Rurelec, proposed the appointment of Gordon Fisher as a director at the firm's forthcoming annual general meeting on June 27.
Since 2011, Fisher has acted as a business consultant to various companies regarding customs and tariff issues.
Prior to that, between 1982 and 2011 he was the owner and managing director of a freight forwarding and customs brokerage.
