Rurelec Chairman Resigns As Board Seeks "Future Stability"

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rurelec PLC, a power producer, on Tuesday said that Non-Executive Chairman Colin Emson has resigned in order to "allow the new executive board to take whatever measures are appropriate for the future stability of the company".

In addition, Non-Executive Director Marcelo Blanco has resigned.

At the end of September, Rurelec reported a GBP14.1 million pretax loss in the first half of its financial year, as it booked big writedowns and impairment charges.

Shares in Rurelec were untraded on Tuesday morning at 1.25 pence.
