(Alliance News) - RTC Group PLC reported on Thursday reported an earnings fall during an "extraordinarily difficult" first half.

RTC's revenue 13% to GBP39.9 million from GBP46.0 million a year ago.

Additionally no dividends were paid in the interim, compared to a 1.4 pence payout a year ago.

"I am particularly pleased to be able to report that our group has managed to navigate its way successfully through an extraordinarily difficult six months and, despite an immediate drop in revenue across all our UK business streams due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have managed to deliver a modest first half profit and a significantly improved cash position," Chair Bill Douie said.

RTC shares closed 5.2% higher at 35.75 pence in London on Thursday.
