(Alliance News) - Royal London Mutual Insurance Society Ltd on Wednesday said it has appointed former Standard Life Pensions & Savings boss Barry O'Dwyer as its new chief executive.
O'Dwyer will join fellow insurer Royal London in September, replacing current CEO Phil Loney, who stands down on June 28 but will remain available to Royal London throughout 2019.
Royal London Chair Kevin Parry will take on some CEO responsibilities during the transition period before O'Dwyer joins.
O'Dwyer is the former CEO of Pensions & Savings at Standard Life PLC. After Standard Life's merger with Aberdeen Asset Management and the sale of Standard Life Assurance to Phoenix Group, O'Dwyer became head of Standard Life Aberdeen's UK business and joined Phoenix as a non-executive director.
