Roxi Petroleum Reports Good Flows From BNG Shallow Well

13th Jan 2016 10:54

LONDON (Alliance News) - Roxi Petroleum PLC on Wednesday said its shallow and deep wells at the BNG project in Kazakhstan have continued to progress, with good flows from its shallow well on the site.

Roxi said the shallow well 143 drilled at the site had shown strong flows since the turn of the year and has continued to flow well.

Elsewhere at the project, deep well 801 has been flowing intermittently, after work done to repair a blockage. The well has now been closed to allow for the removal of the drill pipes and is expected to be placed on test in the next few weeks.

Deep well A5 is set to undergo further cleaning up operations this month, with the delivery of new coil tubing equipment to remove the excess drilling fluids which had previously been reported by Roxi.

Drilling on deep well A6 continues, Roxi said, and is on target to reach total depth in February.

"We are naturally pleased with the significant improvement in flow rates at well 143 following the perforation of the new intervals. As previously noted we have high hopes for this well and the structure on which it sits," said Roxi Chairman Clive Carver.

"We remain encouraged by the progress at the deeper wells and look forward to a time when we can update the market with uninterrupted flow rates," Carver added.

Shares in Roxi were down 2.0% to 6.98 pence on Wednesday.
