Round Hill diversifies rights portfolio with three catalogue purchases

31st Dec 2021 07:44

(Alliance News) - Round Hill Music Royalty Fund Ltd said on Friday it had acquired the catalogue of three artists: Jack Richardson, Garth Richardson and Rebelution.

The Guernsey-based music copyright investment company said it had acquired the master recordings and music publishing assets of American reggae band Rebelution, including each of the band's seven studio albums.

Round Hill said the acquisition is equally shared with Round Hill's private Fund III and will help to diversify the company's portfolio, adding that it currently has limited exposure to reggae.

Rebelution released their debut album in 2007 and have sold over half a million albums to date, Round Hill explained.

The 308 track catalogues of Jack and Garth Richardson were also acquired, made up of producer royalties and neighbouring rights income.

The catalogues of the father and son record producers include songs such as 'Killing in the Name' by Rage Against the Machine and 'Night Moves' by Bob Seger. Artists in the catalogue include Alice Cooper, Nickelback and Chevelle, amongst others.

Round Hill said the purchase will help to further diversify its portfolio in terms of genre and royalty type with the addition of key tracks from some of "alternative metal's best-known bands".
