Rotala Wins Three New Contracts For Transport Services In UK

18th Jan 2017 12:21

LONDON (Alliance News) - Local coach and bus operator Rotala PLC on Wednesday said it has won three new contracts in the UK.

The first contract is with APCOA Parking UK Ltd to provide transport services to and from designer outlet shopping centre Bicester Village in Oxfordshire. Under the contract, Rotala will provide a daily transport route to the Village from London and will provide a bus link to and from Bicester train station.

In addition, Rotala will provide bus services on location allowing links between the shopping precinct itself and the more distant of its surrounding car parks.

The contract has a minimum duration of three years and is expected to provide Rotala with annualised revenue of GBP1.2 million when fully operational in April. Most of the vehicle requirement of the contract will be met by vehicles currently within the fleet.

The second contract is for a new bus service in Surrey, supported by Surrey County Council. Service 458 utilises Rotala's existing depot at Heathrow, running a bus route from Staines to Kingston upon Thames via Walton on Thames and Esher every day half-hourly in both directions.

The contract has a duration of nine months and is expected to provide revenue of GBP375,000. Vehicles for the service are being provided from within the existing group bus fleet.

The third and final contract is with Singapore Airlines to transport its crews to and from Heathrow Airport and their overnight hotels. The two-year contract is expected to produce revenue of GBP300,000 and also utilises existing vehicles in the depot fleet.

"The board is pleased with the progression of its Heathrow based operations and believes that there are further opportunities for the company to expand its services in the surrounding area, utilising the Heathrow depot," Rotala said in a statement.

Shares in Rotala were trading up 7.3% at 57.94 pence on Wednesday.
