(Alliance News) - Natural resources firm Rose Petroleum PLC said Tuesday it has shaken up its board, namely with Executive Chair Colin Harrington's appointment as chief executive with immediate effect.
He will be replacing Matthew Idiens, who stepped down on Friday last week after six years in the role. Harrington has been executive chair at Rose since May.
In addition, Non-Executive Director Rick Grant, who was appointed in late June, has been promoted to non-executive chair with immediate effect.
Finally, Rose Petroleum has appointed Gordon Stein as non-executive director. He is currently chief financial officer at Columbus Energy Resources PLC.
"I am delighted that Gordon has agreed to join the board of the company as an independent non-executive director. His financial experience and long-standing relationships will be invaluable over the coming months as the company looks to complete its transformation into a geographically-focused upstream participant," Harrington said.
"In taking on the role of chief executive at this pivotal time, I personally look forward to working with Rick, Gordon and the rest of the team to achieve our prime objectives - delivering value and growth for all shareholders," he added.
Shares in Rose Petroleum were up 8.1% at 1.81 pence on Tuesday.
