Rose Petroleum Promotes John Blair To be Head Of US Oil & Gas Assets

8th Aug 2014 09:27

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rose Petroleum PLC Friday said it has promoted John Blair to be chief executive of its US oil and gas assets, and appointed him as director of oil and gas on its board.

Geologist Blair has over 27 years of experience in the upstream oil & gas industry, the company said, including as senior vice president at consulting firm Knowledge Reservoir for three years until 2013, where he analysed over 150 unconventional shale resource plays worldwide for numerous clients including Statoil, Pemex, Marubeni, Itochu, and Maersk. He has also founded three private independent US oil & gas companies and has experience in both conventional and unconventional oil & gas exploration and development.

"In line with the company's directive of strengthening the Oil & Gas side of the board, I am pleased to welcome John to the board and his appointment to CEO of Rose (US)," group Chief Executive Matthew Idiens said in a statement.

"John's depth of experience in both operating and assessment of potential projects is a great asset for us and I look forward to working with him over the coming years. We are continuing to build the operations team in the US and plan to announce further updates in the near future," Idiens added.

Rose Petroleum shares were up 6.0% at 3.34 pence Friday morning, one of the top gainers on the AIM All-Share index.
