LONDON (Alliance News) - Rolls Royce Holdings PLC Monday said it has been selected by Turkish Airlines to supply Trent 700 engines to power four Airbus A330 freighter aircraft in a contract worth USD300 million.
Turkish Airlines already operates 11 A330ceo passenger aircraft and five A330 freighter aircraft that are powered by Rolls Royce's Trent 700 engines, it said.
Rolls-Royce also will provide Turkish Airlines wit its TotalCare service support for the engines. TotalCare minimises customer financial risk and enhances operational performance and reliability, Rolls Royce said.
"We are proud that Turkish Airlines has continued to demonstrate its confidence in the Trent 700's ability to deliver outstanding economic performance," said Dominic Harwood, chief customer officer for the company's civil large engines division.
Rolls Royce said the Trent 700 engine is being used in 90% of A330 freighter aircraft in service and on order, adding that there are 1,500 Trent 700 engines in service or on order.
Rolls Royce shares were up 0.5% to 991.84 pence per share late Monday afternoon.
