Rolls-Royce Wins USD1.1 Billion Air Europa Deal

15th Jan 2015 13:09

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Thursday said that Spanish carrier Air Europa has chosen Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines and service worth USD1.1 billion for 14 new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

According to aircraft and marine engine maker Rolls-Royce, Air Europa already has eight Trent 1000-powered 787-8s on order that will enter service in 2016.

"We are delighted that Air Europa has once again selected the Trent 1000 and continues to recognise the benefits that this engine brings, delivering excellent lifetime fuel burn and reliability on the aircraft as well as outstanding emissions and noise performance," Mark Harrison, Rolls-Royce, vice president, customer business, civil large engines, said in a statement.

The order will result in an increase in the group's order book of USD600 million, in accordance with group accounting policy.

Rolls-Royce shares were down 0.1% at 851.50 pence on Thursday.
