LONDON (Alliance News) - Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC said Wednesday it has been awarded a USD39 million contract to support AE 1107C engines for V-22 aircraft operated by the US Marine Corps and Air Force.
The company, which operates through two main business segments - Aerospace and Marine & Industrial Power Systems - said the MissionCare contract is an upgraded version of a previous agreement with the Marines and Air Force.
The new contract includes repairs and support services, with work carried out at Rolls-Royce facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Oakland, California, as well as fleet support at customer bases, said the company. The contract for work in 2014-15 was awarded through the Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Maryland.
The Rolls-Royce AE 1107C turboshaft is part of the AE product family, which has more than 5,800 engines in service and has accumulated nearly 60 million flight hours. As well as a dedicated team of field service representatives, Rolls-Royce also supports the AE 1107C engine fleet through the Defense Operations Center in Indianapolis, providing 24/7 real-time engineering support for V-22 operators.
Rolls-Royce shares last traded at 1,060 pence per share.
