Rolls-Royce Inks USD580 Million TotalCare Deal With Vietnam Airlines

29th Jul 2015 15:35

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it has secured a USD580 million TotalCare long-term engine support deal with Vietnam Airlines for Trent XWB engines.

The FTSE 100-listed aerospace and engineering company said the engines will be used to power 14 Airbus A350 aircraft for the Vietnamese carrier.

The contract was signed in Hanoi in the presence of Vietnam Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung and British Prime Minister David Cameron, who is visiting the country as part of his trade mission to South East Asia.

"The Trent XWB is the latest example of our ability to take the best in technology to deliver new standards of excellence. We look forward to supporting Vietnam Airlines for many years to come," said Tony Wood, the president of Rolls-Royce's aerospace division.

Rolls-Royce shares were down 0.3% to 733.00 pence on Wednesday.
