Rolls-Royce In Agreement With Chinese Nuclear Reactor Vendor SNPTC

17th Jun 2014 11:31

LONDON (Alliance News) - Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC Tuesday said it has signed a memorandum of understanding with SNPTC, the Chinese nuclear reactor vendor, which will result in the two parties working closer together in the field of civil nuclear power, in the UK and other overseas markets.

In a statement, Rolls-Royce said that it will explore possible areas of collaboration with SNPTC, such as engineering support, provision of components and systems, supply chain management and instrumentation and control technology.

"China represents one of the world's largest civil nuclear markets in which Rolls-Royce has been supplying safety-critical technology and solutions for 20 years," Jason Smith, president of nuclear for Rolls-Royce, said in a statement.

"I am proud that we have built a partnership with SNPTC based on mutual trust. I look forward to exploring how we can broaden our work together in our domestic and international markets," Smith added.

Rolls-Royce shares were Tuesday quoted at 1,012.89 pence, up 0.8%.
